European Transport & Environment: "Made in China" pure electric vehicles are expected to account for more than 25% of the EU market this year

The European Transport and Environment (T&E) released a report on March 27th stating that about 19.5% (nearly 290,000 units) of the battery electric vehicles (EVs) sold in the EU last year were made in China, and this figure is expected to increase to 25.4% this year. The report mentioned that for the "made in China" EVs sold in the EU in 2023, over half are from Western auto manufacturers, with Tesla accounting for 28%. However, the market share of Chinese domestic brands is on the rise, climbing from 0.4% in 2019 to 7.9% in 2023, and is expected to reach 11% this year and 20% by 2027.
